Meet Dr. Victoria Neymann, founder of Verdilab
Skindays: What is your earliest skincare memory?
Victoria Neymann: My earliest skincare memory is closely tied to my mother, the only pianist in doctors’ family, with a profound passion for both music and beauty products. Her vanity held a curated collection of skincare treasures that captivated me as a child. Moreover, I recall moments when she would apply cucumber slices to her eyes and homemade masks crafted from crushed currants to her face. So maybe that’s where my passion for natural ingredients really comes from? (laughter).
SD: Can you share the story behind launching Verdilab?
V.N: I’m a medical doctor by education and in 3rd generation. I followed in the footsteps of my grandfather and father, both professors and pioneers of immunology. My father discovered the unique property of natural RNA molecules to activate the immune system boosting cells regeneration and body’s ability to eliminate toxins. Within the five decades, he validated his discovery through clinical trials on over 10,000 patients with 30 different diseases, including severe skin disorders, and he was granted a patent for the synthesis of natural RNA. I’ve always been drawn to the practical application of science and knew his discovery had a big potential.
But before I started my own Company, I was ventured into the pharmaceutical sector, specializing in herbal medicine. There, I acquired extensive knowledge about the active substances present in plants and came to the understanding of the immense power that nature holds. Then, I moved to the beauty industry, working for various cosmetics brands, being, among other things, responsible for dozens of new product developments per year. I loved the beauty but got frustrated by many things. The slow pace of eco changes, lack of transparency in communication on ingredients used, old formulas full of parabens, lack of scientific evidence on effectiveness in many cases… I was feeling the raising urge to do things my way, aligning with my values. Then COVID came, thrusting immune protection into the spotlight and making my wish to leverage my father’s scientific discovery in immunology for skincare even more relevant. SD: When creating your first range of products, what was the primary skincare problem you were tapping into?
V.N: Definitively, that was the need for products that not only transforms the skin in a positive way but also prioritize its health. ImmunatuRNA® Technology was born from this pursuit and it powers VERDILAB collection, reinforcing skin immunity for a healthier, more beautiful complexion.
SD: What do natural, clean ingredients mean to Verdilab?
V.N: 100% Natural, ultra-clean ingredients are the cornerstone of VERDILAB ensuring safety, transparency, and sustainability. Our products feature exclusively biodegradable, vegan, and cruelty-free ingredients, avoiding the use of any ingredients with proven or suspected risk to both the skin and the environment. We go beyond industry regulations. Our formulas are free from all types of synthetic fillers, silicones, petroleum derivatives, synthetic polymers, microplastics, parabens, phenoxyethanol, animal-derived compounds, and many other. We use biomimetic alternatives of natural origin instead. It is challenging to formulate with such restrictive approach, but this commitment guarantees that VERDILAB provides skincare products that are not only effective but safe for long term use for all skin, including sensitive, and ethically responsible.
SD: Verdilab is a Swiss company, has this influenced or had any impact on the way you source your ingredients or formulate products?
V.N: Our formulation protocol is based on our green chemistry know-how, according to which we follow the strictest standards using the highest-quality standardized ingredients with excellent skin tolerance, even if they cost more. We use number of ingredients such as plant extracts sourced in Switzerland but many others come from all over the world. We always look for the best actives of superior-grade. Majority of them are cultivated in the laboratory thanks to advanced biotechnology which helps to ensure their highest quality and to lower the environmental impact.

SD: What are the three most common ingredients used throughout your selection?
V.N: Like maintaining a healthy diet, effective skincare benefits from a balanced combination of various ingredients, each contributing its unique advantages. Therefore, each VERDILAB’s products contains a unique blend of as many as 25 active ingredients that, acting synergistically, bring quick and visible results confirmed by clinical studies. All VERDILAB formulas feature high concentrations of biotechnological marine and botanical actives of best quality, such as natural acids, plant stem cells, synbiotics, fermented extracts, “green retinol”, various algae and others. But what is also interesting, we uniquely substituted in our formulas regular water (commonly used by brands as a solvent, constituting up to 80% of the composition) with biologically active organic Algae Serum harvested by hands in UNESCO protected areas in Brittany, rich in amino acids, vitamins, and nutrients, to boost the efficacy of our products.
SD: What has been your most rewarding moment while developing the Verdilab skincare line?
V.N: The first such moment was when we received the first results of clinical trials confirming the extraordinary impact of ImmunatuRNA® on the immunity and regeneration of the skin, when even the independent institute that carried out these tests with us was super surprised by such high parameters. But in fact, nothing can replace these fantastic emotions when receiving genuine delight from consumers, along with heartfelt words of appreciation and gratitude for great products that truly work.
SD: What’s your favourite Verdilab combo and how do you use it?
V.N: I am convinced a good serum is a game-changer in a daily beauty regimen for any skin, but especially more mature ones. I interchangeably use VERDILAB LIFT & GLOW Rose Serum for its immediately tightening effect and well-rested look with VERDILAB RADIANCE POWER Vitamin C Serum for its instant glow and skin perfectioning effect.
On top of the serum a good multi-function moisturizer is a must to lock in the goodness of the serum and protect the skin. During winter as a finishing step in my morning routine, I use VERDILAB NATURAL GLOW Vitamin C Brightening Cream and every time I sincerely thank myself for such a great product (laughter). It nourishes my skin so well, brings so much comfort, hydration, illuminating it instantly right after use.
SD: What’s next for Verdilab?
