Equi London is a supplement brand that offers expertly formulated supplements designed to support overall health, energy, and beauty from within. Known for combining science-backed ingredients with holistic principles, Equi London’s products target areas like skin health, hormonal balance, and immunity to help individuals achieve optimal well-being.
Skindays: What inspired you to start Equi London, and what gap did you see in the supplement market?
Rosie Speight: I struggled with hormonal breakouts from my teens and, like many women, was put on the pill to manage it. Every time I tried to come off it, my skin would flare up. After ten years of this cycle, I finally had to stop the pill because I was trying for a baby and my skin became a complete nightmare within a week of stopping. I was working in Investment Banking at the time, living a full-on lifestyle, and couldn’t take medication because we were starting to think about conception. No treatments or products were working – the spots were deep and painful.
That’s when my close friend Alice, now my co-founder and a brilliant nutritional therapist, gave me a range of supplements that worked to create internal balance (EQUIlibrium) in my body while supporting my skin from within. The transformation I experienced wasn’t just with my skin — it was my energy, mood, digestion, periods and overall health. These products were practitioner-grade and only available in clinical formats. We knew we had to take this approach to the wider market and make it easier for women to access. So we combined the 10 most effective supplements into one product — and that’s how Equi began.
SD: What was the first product you developed and why?
RS: Our first product was Beauty Formula, and it was built off the exact combination of supplements I was taking when I saw such a dramatic change in my skin and overall health. We added in a few more targeted ingredients for skin support, like pine bark extract for brightness and hyaluronic acid for hydration, but at its core, it’s the same powerful combination.
What makes it unique is that it doesn’t just feed the skin — it supports the whole body. Whether you’re dealing with breakouts, dullness, or premature ageing, there’s usually an imbalance beneath the surface. Beauty Formula helps to correct that by supporting hormones, gut health, stress, detoxification, energy and more — giving the body what it needs to thrive so the skin can glow from within.
SD: What are three things that set Equi London apart?
RS: When we started Equi ten years ago, we saw the supplement market divided into three (and that’s still the case today).
First, there are high-quality practitioner products that really work but can be overwhelming and hard to access without a professional guiding you. Then there’s the mass market: cheap, low-quality supplements with basic formulations and unnecessary fillers. And finally, you have beautifully packaged, high-end brands that look good but often don’t deliver meaningful results.
We set out to bridge these gaps. Equi offers practitioner-grade products, trusted and used by Doctors, that are also beautifully designed and easy to integrate into daily life. Everything is formulated with clinical precision, without compromising on aesthetic or accessibility. We’re proud to be one of the only premium brands with that level of quality and credibility.
SD: What goes into creating such high-quality supplements?
Alice Mackintosh: There are so many things we’re proud of when it comes to our award-winning formulas! First and foremost, we formulate all our products in-house, spending over a year fine tuning each one to ensure it is clinically effective, highly bioavailable and of course backed by evidence. Unlike many supplement brands that use generic, off-the-shelf formulas focused on marketing rather than research, we meticulously select each of our 50+ ingredients to work together in synergy, supporting the body as a whole.
Creating effective nutritional supplements is a complex process – choosing the right ingredients, sourcing the best forms, and determining precise dosages is what makes the products work so well – we take pride in bringing practitioner-level quality to the wider market, offering supplements that go beyond just addressing symptoms—they help restore balance throughout the entire system.
SD: How do you ensure the potency and efficacy of your supplements throughout the production process?
AM: We follow a thorough, multi-step process to ensure every supplement delivers the ideal balance to make it effective but is super pure and free of any contaminants. Each ingredient is carefully sourced and standardised—herbs, for example, vary in exact strength and seasonality, while vitamins and minerals require precise chemical balancing to maintain the correct active amounts. Maintaining consistency is a complex process, requiring meticulous oversight to avoid common industry pitfalls, such as ingredient buffering by suppliers—a key reason why many supplements fail to deliver results.
To guarantee accuracy, we conduct third-party testing of finished products. Very few supplement brands do this, but we are very particular when it comes to ensuring our products contain exactly what they should, and remain free from contaminants.
SD: How do you see the connection between inner health and outer beauty?
AM: To us, they are completely intertwined. How your skin looks on the outside can be very dependent on what’s happening internally. That’s not to say that people with skin concerns are necessarily unhealthy, but if your skin isn’t looking its best—whether it’s breakouts, dryness, premature aging, or dullness—it could be a sign that your body needs extra internal support.
SD: What’s one wellness ritual you swear by that people might find surprising?
AM: One thing I often tell my clients is not to push their bodies too hard—especially women. Many of the current wellness trends, like fasting, cold water exposure, and zone 2 training are often geared toward male physiology and don’t always align with the unique hormonal rhythms of the female body. I frequently see women struggling with niggles like fatigue, bloating, hair loss, poor sleep, and hormonal imbalances—not realising that pushing the body too far might be having the opposite effect.
The key is to work with your body, not against it. Instead of extreme approaches, I encourage nourishing yet effective habits to support hormonal balance, energy, and overall well-being. Managing stress, exercising in line with your monthly cycle (with a focus on lifting weights), eating balanced meals and not living on coffee all morning are key to this! Long term wellness isn’t about extremes; it’s about sustainability and balance.
SD: Are there any exciting new products or innovations in the pipeline for Equi London?
RS: Absolutely! We’ve got an exciting pipeline of new products that are nearly ready to go. We held back slightly while we focused on expanding internationally, we’ve recently launched in the Middle East and China, which has been a huge focus. Now that’s more established, we’re preparing to bring out something really special. It’s a product we’ve been working on for a long time, and we know it’s going to resonate. Watch this space – we can’t wait to share more soon!
