Why Caring for Sensitive Skin Is About More Than Just Reactions

If your skin often feels tight, itchy, or turns red after using new products (or sometimes for no clear reason at all), you’re not alone. Sensitive skin isn’t just a surface issue; it’s often a sign that your skin barrier is compromised and in need of extra support.

Unlike other skin concerns, sensitivity can be unpredictable. It flares up with weather changes, stress, over-exfoliation, or harsh ingredients. That’s why sensitive skin care isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing less, but better.

Here are 3 key ways we support sensitive skin at Skindays:

Strengthens the Skin Barrier: We prioritize barrier-friendly ingredients like ceramides, squalane, and panthenol to build resilience from within.

Soothes and Calms Flare-Ups: Our routines are packed with calming botanicals, including oat extract, centella asiatica, and allantoin, to instantly reduce redness and discomfort.

Eliminates Irritating Triggers: We keep it simple, no fragrance, no alcohol, no unnecessary actives. Just what your skin needs, nothing it doesn’t.

Our Top Sensitive Skin Friendly Products

On a personal note...

I never considered my skin sensitive. Working in skincare, I tried lots of products without any issues, until a stressful period a couple of years ago. Suddenly, everything irritated my skin. What I thought was just a bad reaction turned out to be sensitivity and early rosacea.

What made the biggest difference was switching to Votary, especially the Super Seed Serum. It’s the only thing that truly calmed my skin. I’ve stripped back my routine (finally!) and learned that skin really does have moods, thanks to stress, hormones, weather, and who knows what else. The trick? Don’t fight it. Just roll with it, stay gentle, and give your skin the TLC it needs.

Xx,
